Client council

TWB has its own client council. We would like to tell you what this council does.

What is a client council?

Every healthcare organisation in the Netherlands must have a client council. This is stated in the law. The client council is independent. This means that the members of the client council are not employed by TWB. They are often clients of TWB or their informal carers. Or people who have worked in healthcare.

What does the client council do?

The client council monitors whether clients receive good care and services from TWB. If the members of the council think something could be improved, they advise the Board of Directors of TWB. Asked and unasked. To do this, they check whether clients are satisfied with TWB, the care and everything around it. And they keep track of national developments in the field of home care.

The client council meets regularly. Several times a year, the members consult with the Board of Directors and the Supervisory Board of TWB. In addition, the client council exchanges knowledge and ideas with other parties in healthcare. Think of other healthcare providers, health insurers and patient associations.

What does the client council advise on?

The client council provides advice on all kinds of subjects. From care and help in the household to the consultation bureau and day care. But it can also be about telephone accessibility or newsletters for clients. Or about the future of care. In fact, everything that TWB clients have to deal with. In addition, the council provides advice on the budget. And the council may nominate candidates for the complaints committee and the Supervisory Board.

Would you also like to become a member?

Would you like to become a member of the client council? You can. You do not need to follow any special training for this. The most important thing is that you have experience with care and services or that you are involved in this. For example, as a client, as an informal caregiver, or as a former care worker. This way you know what is going on with clients and what is important to them.

Other things we ask are:

  • You live in the TWB working area.
  • You have plenty of time to spend on the council.
  • You enjoy working in a team.
  • You can communicate well with different people.
  • You enjoy maintaining contact with clients.
