Introduction
Your first appointment with us is when your child is about 2 weeks old. Together we will decide whether this will be by telephone, on location or at your home. Of course we would like to hear from you how you and your baby are doing. And we will tell you what you can expect from us.
During the appointment we create a digital child file. In this we can keep track of the growth and development of your child. You can always view this file yourself via My Child in Pictures. And we discuss whether you can raise your child according to the National Vaccination Program want to be vaccinated.
We are there for children from 0 to 1 years old
We are there for you and your child. We support you and your partner in your new role as a parent. And we check whether your child is developing well and healthily. In the first year we offer a number of services for this.
Heel prick and hearing test
In the first week after birth, we will visit you for a heel prick and a hearing test. This allows us to see if your child has a rare but serious disease. And whether your baby can hear well. This allows doctors to treat your child as quickly as possible if necessary. Register your child directly via this link. Or read more via the button below.

Useful tips for children from 0 to 1 year old
What are safe toys for my baby? What are good first bites to try? And what do I do against mastitis? The answer to these and many more questions can be found on GroeiGids.nl.
Question and answer
Do I have to register my baby for the heel prick and hearing test myself?
In most cases not. We receive the birth via the municipality. We will then let you know when we will come by for the heel prick and the hearing test.
But sometimes it takes a little longer before we hear that your child has been born. Or we do not have your details. Then we cannot schedule an appointment. That is why you can also register yourself for the heel prick and hearing test. Fill in the registration form to request the heel prick and hearing test for your child. The midwife or maternity nurse can also request the heel prick and hearing test for you.
Breastfeeding is not going smoothly, what can I do?
Do you have the idea that your baby is not drinking well? Or do you suffer from mastitis or cracked nipples? Then the lactation consultant can help you. Send your question to [email protected] or call 088 560 2000 to make an appointment.
Can I have my baby weighed in between at the consultation bureau?
Yes, that is possible. You can come to the walk-in consultation for that. We will weigh and measure your child there. And you can ask other questions. When the walk-in consultation is at your consultation bureau, you can see on the map at the bottom of this page.
Are vaccinations mandatory?
No. You decide whether to have your child vaccinated according to the National Vaccination Programme. We advise you to do so. It protects your child against the potentially serious consequences of infectious diseases. And you protect other children who have not had the vaccination. For example, because they are too young or have a certain disease. Doctors and scientists have extensively tested and researched all vaccinations. And they continue to research them. That is how we know that they are safe.
I have questions about my child's health. Where can I go?
We are here to answer all your questions. The doctor, nurse specialist or youth nurse will check during your visits to the consultation bureau whether your child is developing well. We are happy to think along with you to let your child grow up as healthily as possible. In a way that suits you.
